Take A Seat to rest your weary feet in Mansfield town centre

If you’re in need of a sit down when visiting Mansfield town centre, you will soon be able to take a seat to rest your feet. Mansfield BID (Business Improvement District) is working with Vision West Nottinghamsire and Swinton Insurance on a Healthy High Streets scheme that will see shops and businesses offering a seat to people who need it, without any obligation to buy anything. Latest Magazine out soon!!

Mansfield Town Centre's latest Down Town magazine is due out around mid November. The magazine features a small selection of town centre businesses and some of the products and services on offer as well as information about events including the Christmas Lights Switch on. You can pick a copy up from the customer service desk in the Four Seasons Shopping Centre, the bus station, library and many shops in the town centre. MAKING SURE HALLOWEEN IS N-ICE

Key rings and credit-style cards reminding people to carry In Case of Emergency (ICE) details are being handed out in Mansfield on Friday night as part of a night of action.   It has been organised to help make sure no-one out in town to celebrate Halloween gets seriously scared.   The ICE keyrings have space for the owner to write a telephone number as well as their full name and details of any medical condition they have. Where there’s a Will, there’s a Will Aid charitable donation

  Fidler & Pepper Solicitors are using their skills in writing Wills to once again help a national fund-raising initiative. Will Aid has been running annually in November since 1988 and sees people making a Will with participating lawyers who waive their usual fee but invite people to make a donation to the Will Aid charities instead. Suggested voluntary donations are £95 for a basic single Will or £150 for a pair of basic mirror Wills. POSTIVE PURPLE FLAG FEEDBACK

Mansfield’s pubs, events, bus station, dedicated policing, CCTV system, street signs and partnership working have all been praised in a report compiled by independent assessors from the Association of Town and City Management (ATCM).   The positive feedback follows an inspection visit to the town in August. Unique touchscreen and voucher technology coming to Mansfield

Mansfield has become just one of three areas selected to trial innovative new interactive Touchpoint technology that aims to bring more people into town centres.   Rewarding Visits has chosen Mansfield to host up to seven Touchpoint units, which combine display screens and voucher printers.   The idea is that town centre retailers and businesses can display their latest products and services, and offer vouchers which shoppers can print out and use.   To print out a voucher, shoppers will need a new I Love Mansfield card, which will replace the current I Love Mansfield privilege cards.  It is ...

Great customer service celebrated in Mansfield

Mansfield town centre businesses deliver some of the best customer services of anywhere in the UK.   That was the message at an awards ceremony last night (Thursday) held by the Mansfield BID (Business Improvement District).   More than 65 businesses took part in the third annual BID customer service awards scheme.   Independent assessors from Storecheckers had visited participants to judge how good their service was, and mark them against a set criteria.   Businesses were then ranked into bands, depending on how high they had scored.   And last night, the participants found out just how well they had ...

Flypast salute for Mansfield town centre events

A flypast over Mansfield capped a fantastic weekend of events in the town centre.   Organised by Mansfield BID (Business Improvement District), Friday evening saw the Back to the Swing of Things 1940s-style dance event take place in a marquee in the Market Place, while Saturday and Sunday saw the Garden and Craft Festival take place, also in the marquee.   The festival, organised by the BID in association with The Trustees of the Allotments for the Labouring Poor, was a chance for green-fingered locals to show off their skills and potentially win categories.   A number of stalls selling ...
