Offers and discounts are flooding in!

Nearly time for the launch of a brand new 'I Love Mansfield' card   Businesses in the Mansfield town centre are busy putting forward offers and discounts ready for the launch of a brand new card in March 2017. There will be several touchpoint machines in place where card holders can register their card ready to print off offers and discounts whilst they visit the town centre.   All existing card holders will be automatically be issued with a new card via the post in readiness for the launch. Help us Turn our Rags into Riches

The Cornwater Club Charity Shop today launched its Rags to Riches campaign to raise £1000 to support their older people's activity programme.    The shop on Queen Street, Mansfield, is inviting members of the public and local businesses to bring their 'rags'; worn out or torn clothing, underwear, shoes, bedding, tablecloths, towels, etc to the shop.  The rags are then sold to the local recycling merchant to raise funds.   Currently over 85% of textiles are going to landfill sites, which is environmentally harmful.  Of this, more than 90% could be re-cycled and given a new lease of ...

Training facility on the menu for disused former mill

A historic and once-popular Mansfield town centre venue that has stood empty for a number of years could soon be set to reopen its doors - as a pub food training academy. The Old Town Mill, in Bridge Street, was known for miles around as a live venue, with regular entertainment enjoyed by hundreds of people from far and wide. Jewellery shop proving it's a real gem

A Mansfield jewellery shop is proving to be a real gem in the town centre.   Figures show that Xibit, in Market Street, saw a 30 per cent increase in takings in the run up to Christmas when compared to the previous year.   Leon Smith, who co-owns the shop, said: “It just goes to show that with the right products great customer service and the right prices shops like ours in the centre of Mansfield can do really well.   "We strive to offer the customer what they want. Glazey Place paints itself a colourful future in new premises

A growing trend in people wanting to make handmade gifts and enjoy crafts has resulted in a pottery painting shop having to move to new, larger premises.   The Glazey Place was launched in White Hart Street in Mansfield in March 2012.   Owner Sue Nelson had the idea to bring something different to Mansfield town centre and created a venue where people, young and old, could go in to paint their own designs on pottery items which would then be fired in the shop’s own kiln.   The White Hart Street shop has proved to be really popular, ...

Elaine McGreade is raising a special toast this week after scooping top spot for her Christmas window display. Free and reduced parking this Christmas in Mansfield

Shoppers are reminded that there are times in the run-up to Christmas when they can park for free in Mansfield town centre. The Four Seasons Shopping Centre offers free customer parking every Sunday at the multi-storey car park. In the run-up to Christmas, shoppers can also park for free in the Four Seasons car park from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday 15 and 22 December. Student’s winning poster to highlight Take A Seat campaign
