Success as I Love Mansfield card relaunched

The launch of the new I Love Mansfield has been hailed as a major success for the town centre.   The new card, managed by Mansfield BID (Business Improvement District), was launched on Saturday, coinciding with new Touchpoint voucher and display technology going live too.   Over the weekend, more than 1,000 local residents had signed up using the new www.ilovemansfield.co.uk  website.   Users can now see more than 200 offers around the town centre which have been placed there by 119 retailers, who can now updated offers whenever they wish.   Used on a mobile phone, this site ...

Mansfield wins bid for National Lottery funding

The Townscape project management team is celebrating after its combined efforts have resulted in a grant of over £900,000 being awarded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to revitalise one of Mansfield’s best-known heritage areas.   Mansfield Business Improvement District (BID) and Nottinghamshire County Council made the initial approach to the Heritage Lottery Fund for Townscape Heritage grants to apply for a Townscape Heritage grant to repair and restore some of the most iconic buildings along Leeming Street, which forms part of the ‘Market Place Conservation Area’.   The project was then backed by Mansfield District ...

Offers and discounts are flooding in!

Nearly time for the launch of a brand new 'I Love Mansfield' card   Businesses in the Mansfield town centre are busy putting forward offers and discounts ready for the launch of a brand new card in March 2017. Help us Turn our Rags into Riches

The Cornwater Club Charity Shop today launched its Rags to Riches campaign to raise £1000 to support their older people's activity programme.    The shop on Queen Street, Mansfield, is inviting members of the public and local businesses to bring their 'rags'; worn out or torn clothing, underwear, shoes, bedding, tablecloths, towels, etc to the shop.  The rags are then sold to the local recycling merchant to raise funds.   Currently over 85% of textiles are going to landfill sites, which is environmentally harmful.  Of this, more than 90% could be re-cycled and given a new lease of ...

Training facility on the menu for disused former mill

A historic and once-popular Mansfield town centre venue that has stood empty for a number of years could soon be set to reopen its doors - as a pub food training academy. The Old Town Mill, in Bridge Street, was known for miles around as a live venue, with regular entertainment enjoyed by hundreds of people from far and wide. Jewellery shop proving it's a real gem

Glazey Place paints itself a colourful future in new premises

A growing trend in people wanting to make handmade gifts and enjoy crafts has resulted in a pottery painting shop having to move to new, larger premises.   The Glazey Place was launched in White Hart Street in Mansfield in March 2012.   Owner Sue Nelson had the idea to bring something different to Mansfield town centre and created a venue where people, young and old, could go in to paint their own designs on pottery items which would then be fired in the shop’s own kiln.   The White Hart Street shop has proved to be really popular, ...
