Success already for new Mansfield bistro

The success of Mansfield’s evening economy has prompted one town centre cafe owner to open Bistro evenings at his premises. By day, Casey’s Coffee Bar on White Hart Street is popular with shoppers and workers alike. Academy’s Christmas “shop and drop” to help fund bank

A Mansfield martial arts gym has come up with an innovative idea to help parents do their shopping while at the same time help people in need this Christmas.   The Instinctive Martial Arts & Fitness Gym, at 3 Stockwell Gate, has launched a Christmas shopping “drop off service”.   The idea is that parents drop their children off at the gym for a few hours, and then go and do their Christmas shop.   And, as the gym has committed to helping the Mansfield Food Bank this year, the only payment in return for children having fun in ...

NEW GROUP FOR DOOR SUPERVISORS

A new group set up in Mansfield to support door supervisors working at pubs and clubs in the town is thought to be the only one of its kind currently operating in England.   Called Mansfield Doorwatch, it has been created with the help of money from Mansfield Partnership Against Crime (MPAC) and is being run by Nottinghamshire Police licensing officer Kate Ansty.   Area managers for companies providing venues with door staff have been invited to join, along with head door supervisors. BUSINESSES VOTE A HUGE YES TO MANSFIELD BID

The team behind the Mansfield Business Improvement District are celebrating this afternoon after the BID was given a clear mandate to operate for a new five-year term. Following a statutory vote, businesses in the town centre have given the BID the green light to continue delivering on its bold vision to make Mansfield town centre a vibrant place. Mansfield handed its Purple Flag

Mansfield was presented with its official Purple Flag certificate at an awards ceremony in Kingston last night, (November 5) marking its success in the accreditation scheme that recognises excellence in the management of town centres at night. Two Saturday night visits by Association of Town and City Management (ATCM) assessors were made to Mansfield this year and paperwork providing evidence of achievements in the town was submitted.   The Purple Flag Panel endorsed the recommendations of the Assessors and awarded Purple Flag status to Mansfield at the end of September.
