Show off your magnificent flowers, veg and fruit at Mansfield Garden and Craft Festival

  If you’ve grown giant carrots, huge cauliflowers, large leeks, or lanky parsnips, then Mansfield’s Garden and Craft Festival Open Show is where you should be showing your produce. And the call for entries is coming from green-fingered Joe Atherton, and he knows a thing or two about prize-winning veg. From his garden in Mansfield Woodhouse, Joe has produced vegetables that have broken world records. Mansfield urged to show support for the Armed Forces

Veterans from the Mansfield area are urging local folk to enjoy the town’s Armed Forces Day - where people will see a flypast from an RAF Hurricane.   The event takes place in Mansfield’s Market Place on Sunday, June 25, between 10.30am and 3pm, and includes a parade, a display of army vehicles, a market, food stalls and music from the group The Cherry Belles.   A short parade at 10.15am from The Buttercross, West Gate to the Market Place for 10.30am will mark the opening of the event   Children can also make model Spitfires, and ...

Popstar to headline Mansfield’s Party on the Market   A spectacular open air party, headlined with a live performance from Kevin Simm, the Brit Award Winning Liberty X singer and winner of The Voice UK 2016, is to be held in Mansfield town centre. Wills review urged following inheritance tax changes

Homeowners who have historically used trusts as a way of reducing inheritance tax bills should review their Wills as soon as possible. That’s the advice from Wills, probate and trusts specialist Richard Howard from law firm Fidler & Pepper Solicitors. Changes came into force in April that mean people could have an additional £100,000 (in basic terms, a total of £425,000 per person) before they pay any inheritance tax, provided that an estate includes a property which has been or is their residence and that property is closely inherited. Apprentice Sophie shortlisted in awards final

An apprentice at Fidler & Pepper Solicitors has been shortlisted for an award. Sophie Wise has made it to the finals of the first Johnston Press North Midlands and South Yorkshire Apprenticeship of the Year awards, being held on Tuesday, May 16 at the Showroom Workstation in Sheffield.
