Mansfield gets into the Swing of Things!

Hundreds of people have attended a series of events in Mansfield town centre, organised by Mansfield BID. Dancers took to the dancefloor on Friday for the Back to the Swing of Things event with dance demonstrations and guests had been invited to go dressed in vintage clothing. Prior to the dance spectacular a vintage clothes market was held in a giant marquee that had been specially erected for the events. Fun! Fun! Fun!

Great fun was had by all at the first of the 2 Mad Hatter's Tea Parties at Beales Dept. Store on Stockwell Gate last Friday. Tomorrow is the second tea party held on the top floor restaurant at Beales. THE INSPECTORS CALLED!

Mansfield locations including the CCTV control room, White Lion Yard, the new £9m bus station/transport hub and Titchfield Park where a bowling match was in progress were among those visited this weekend by Purple Flag assessors. Bar and door staff at pubs and clubs in Mansfield as well as those working at other night time venues have agreed to wear promotional items showing their support for the town’s Purple Flag campaign.   And members of the public also have the opportunity to pick up badges and wristbands featuring the “We love Mansfield ... and you will too” slogan this weekend. Dancing the night away, 40s style in Mansfield town centre

A dance spectacular in Mansfield’s market place will help people get into the swing of things as they might have been in the 1940s. The Mansfield Improvement District (BID) has organised the Back to the Swing of Things for Friday 30th May, at a ballroom in a marquee. Doors open at 6.30pm with dance demonstrations from 7pm, and guests are invited to go dressed in vintage clothing. New Express Beauty Salon in Mansfield town centre

An award-winning beauty salon owner is ringing a new concept in treatment to Mansfield town centre. Lauren Halley, from Ilkeston, currently runs The Beauty Room in Eastwood, but is due to open The Beauty Room Express in Queen Street at the end of March. The new venue will provide a number of highly-popular treatments, such as waxing, HD Brows, semi-permanent lashes, spray tans and Jellish nails, on a walk-in basis.
