Mansfield Customer Service Awards 2014

After a two week secret shopper campaign we are delighted to have celebrated our first Mansfield Town Centre Customer Service Awards 2014   Over 35 businesses took part achieving a Bronze, Silver or Gold Certificate. Big Poppy Knit come to Four Seasons

During the 100th anniversary of World War 1, BBC Radio Nottingham is running an appeal for knitted and crocheted poppies. To help reach the total of 11,000 poppies to mark each of the 11,000 fallen men from Nottinghamshire during the Great War, Beales department store, located within the Four Seasons shopping centre, is holding their own Big Poppy Knit event. Coats Crafts, a concession within Beales, will be holding the event on Tuesday 16th September. Thousands came along over the weekend

The Sun shone down on Mansfield Market Place...   Thousands came through the marquee last weekend when they visited Mansfield’s Garden & Craft Festival 2014, organised by Mansfield BID on behalf of The Trustees for the Allotments for the Labouring Poor.   Saturday saw over 100 entries in the ‘Grow your Own’ classes with the biggest onions, the perfect carrots and lots of delicious looking assorted coloured tomatoes. Would-be shop owners needed for pop-up opportunity in Mansfield

If you have ever wanted to run your own shop but want to try it out first, then Mansfield BID could help. With funding support from Mansfield District Council, the BID has secured a Brunts Charity property in Leeming Street for use by a pop-up shop. This means that someone with a business idea that meets certain criteria, could have the use of a town centre shop to try running their own business. They would have to pay a rent of around £300 a month, but costs such as insurance and utilities would be covered. The shop could be run ...

Mansfield BID’s free wifi initiative hailed as best practice

A ground-breaking Mansfield Business Improvement District (Mansfield BID) initiative to bring free wifi to town centre shoppers, businesses and visitors has been highlighted as best practice in a report into the British high street.   The report, called High Street Performance and Evolution, was written by researchers at Southampton University in conjunction with The Great British High Street and the Economic and Social Research Council.   Researchers reveal how “fundamental” changes to Britain’s “convenience culture” are transforming the way people shop and are bringing new business into towns.   Mansfield features in the report, ...
