Four Seasons Kick Off Appeal for MRI Scanner

The Four Seasons Shopping Centre is backing the King's Mill appeal to raise money for a new MRI scanner by starting their very own collection in the centre. They kicked it off by adding £100 of loose change. They want to encourage everybody to give generously to this great campaign that would make a real difference to local people. The collection box can be found outside Debenhams next to the Customer Service Desk.

Wetherspoon raise money for charity

  JD Wetherspoons in the Mansfield area between Monday 6th and Sunday 12thAugust are holding their biggest ever charity fundraising event for their main charity CLIC Sargent. CLIC Sargent helps fund families who have children with cancer or leukaemia. Teenagers raise money for young carers

  A group of teenagers who are taking part in the National Citizenship Service programme which produces a social action project for the community are raising money for the ‘Family Action’ charity. Family Action is a charity that supports young carers and the surrounding community. This event will take place on Friday 27th July from 10am to 3pm in Mansfield Market Place which will include live music, tombola, stalls selling confectionery and other small gifts. The results are in

  Over 1700 people voted for their favourite shop in a recent competition organised by the Mansfield BID. The winning shop of ‘The Best of British’ dressed window competition is The Shabby Hut on Regent Street and the runner up is Forever Young Fancy Dress on Toothill Lane. Louise and Neil from The Shabby Hut receive a trophy, and some free advertising to promote their business. Paul from Forever Young Fancy Dress wins a certificate and free advertising. Over £300 raised at Regent Street Event

Johnsons Cleaners recently organised a Charity Fund Raising Event with other businesses on Regent Street and raised over £300 for the British Heart Foundation. Portas Pilot - Round 2

  Although we were not in a strong position to apply for the Portas Pilot, round 1, we have since been working hard to develop plans should another opportunity become available. Round two of the Portas Pilot was recently launched for a further 12 towns to bid for up to £100, 00. We are happy to be leading the town team application for this round and have submitted our bid last week. Mansfield welcomes the Torch

  Thousands turned out in the Mansfield Town centre to watch as the Olympic Torch convoy made its momentous journey through our town, from West Gate through the Market Place, onto Church Street and finally Bridge Street. Flags were handed out to the crowds as they began to gather along the Torch route from around 10 o’clock this morning. Despite a torrential downpour their spirits weren’t dampened on this special once in a lifetime occasion.
