Mansfield Safer Business Partnership Award

Dave Wilson recieving AABC awardMansfield Safer Business Partnership (MSBP) has been recognised as one of the UK's leading business crime partnership. At the national Action Against Business Crime conference, MSBP received the Highly Commended Award in the "Promoting Public Safety" category, just behind winners Belfast City Centre.

 

Business Improvement District (BID)

Mansfield  held a BID's workshop on 12th February 2008 for those businesses in the proposed BID area.  It was facilitated by the East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA), and was attended by over 40 stakeholders. The consultants fed back their report at the Board meeting on February 22nd and a subsequent meeting took place on March 28th to discuss their findings. It was decided to seek the £100,000 funding to take the BID to the development phase.

Sunday Shopping Campaign

Following on from the success of Septembers Sunday shopping campaign, Mansfield Town Centre Partnership held another campaign in February with a lucky contestant winning £600 worth of vouchers and goods from stores that open in the town on Sundays.

Christmas Shopping in Mansfield!

‘Big name’ shops, specialist independent stores, bustling outdoor markets, and plenty of places to eat and drink, meant Mansfield had everything for a great Christmas.

Late Night Shopping

Thursday 13th November 2008 will be the start of Late Night Christmas Shopping in Mansfield Town Centre. For five consecutive Thursdays from November 20th, shoppers were entertained by traditional Carol Singers, street entertainment and performances from local schools.

Sunday Shopping

Santa's Grotto, Four Seasons, MansfieldIn the lead up to Christmas, lots more of the town centre shops opened on Sundays. Parking was free on Sundays in the following car parks:-

Four Seasons, Handley Arcade, Toothill Rd, Toothill Lane, Rock Valley, Church Lane, Grove St, Robin Hood Line, Station Rd extension (ex Courtaulds site) and Garden Rd.

Consulation on Parking for New Developments - Draft Interim Planning Guidance Document (IPG)

Mansfield District Council has prepared draft Interim Planning Guidance (IPG) document for planning guidance on parking for new developments. DraftcarparkingIPGOnce adopted, the IPG will be used to provide guidance to developers, architects, agents and landowners considering submitting a planning application. The document presents a set of parking standards, and associated guidance for the provision of parking for new developments.

 

As part of the process the document is subject to a consultation period of 4 weeks from 26th June 2008 to 23rd July 2008.

 

The consultation draft IPG and accompanying comments form are available to view at Mansfield District Council Offices (Central Reception and Planning Reception) Chesterfield Road South, Mansfield or the Council’s website www.mansfield.gov.uk/ipg.

 

If you wish to make a comment on the Draft IPG please complete a comments form and return it to Planning Policy Group Manager, Mansfield District Council, Civic Centre, Chesterfield Road South, Mansfield, NG19 7BH. Alternatively you can e-mail ldf@mansfield.gov.uk or write to the address above stating clearly which paragraph of the document your comments relate to. Any comments should be received by 5.00pm on Wednesday 23rd July 2008.
